The holidays are here and what better way to wrap yourself up in the December spirit than by indulging in a seasonal treat like some steamy hot chocolate with friends and family, sipping up some yuletide cheer.
Here are some of our favorite spots around town for grabbing delicious hot cocoa this holiday season:
Huckleberry Café in Santa Monica (1014 Wilshire Blvd.) has some of the best hot chocolate in the US, according to Food and Wine Magazine. Pastry chef and owner Zoe Nathan makes Valrhona syrup for the cocoa, which promises to be a delectable, delightful treat, best enjoyed with some of Huckleberry’s freshly made baked goods.
C+M (Coffee + Milk): Located at LACMA (5905 Wilshire Blvd.), C+M offers its rich and highly addictive Artisinal Chocolat featuring chocolate ganache with steamed Straus Family Creamery whole milk.
Cacao Mexicatessen in Eagle Rock (1576 Colorado Blvd) is a great Mexican restaurant serving up highly addictive, classic Mexican cacao in huge bowls.
Spazio Caffé: At Spazio in Santa Monica (1511 Montana Ave) hot chocolate is the name of the game with flavors like the famed White Chocolate, which comes with a shot of espresso and the Almond Hot Chocolate. Spazio concoction featured to the right.
Amara Chocolate & Coffee in Pasadena (55 South Raymond Avenue) is widely known for its dark pure cocoa aka Venezuelan Hot Sipping Chocolate with numerous varieties. Amara hot chocolate featured above.
Cafe Demitasse: With two LA locations, one in Little Tokyo (135 S. San Pedro Street) and one in Santa Monica (1149 Third Street), Cafe Demitasse has an incredible Hot cocoa, blended in-house to perfection.
Guelaguetza: Located in Downtown at 3014 W Olympic Blvd., Guelaguetza serves up some of the best Oaxacan food around with a delectable assortment of hot drinks including their signature Chocolate de Leche made with the finest Oaxacan chocolate.
