With his entrepreneurial spirit and penchant for shaking up the status quo, F. Ron Smith, along with four of his friends, launched Partners Trust, Pacific Union LA in 2009 with the idea of creating a discerning and conscientious real estate brokerage. Through his leadership style and visionary marketing tactics, the company has since grossed more than $8.5 Billion in sales. In addition to recently being named as one of Variety Magazine’s Los Angeles Real Estate Elite, F. Ron was ranked by the Wall Street Journal as the #24 producing agent in California by sales volume in 2015 as well as 14th in Los Angeles. In his own right, F. Ron has been involved in more than $2 Billion in residential real estate transactions.
In 2014, to broaden Partners Trust, Pacific Union’s reach worldwide, F. Ron co-founded Leverage Global Partners, an innovative and exclusive network of boutique independent real estate firms from around the world—5,713 agents operating in 16 countries and serving 163 markets, to be exact. As Leverage President, F. Ron has guided the business to success, producing more than $1 Billion in real estate sales across the network.
In 2016, to better serve his clients and grow his own business, F. Ron joined forces with fellow Pacific Union Associate David Berg to form the Smith & Berg team at Pacific Union. The team represents the interests of business leaders, celebrities and residential developers as well as individual buyers and sellers in Los Angeles, brokering some of the most notable sales on the Westside. F. Ron’s ability to walk into a home and intuitively know the seller’s ideal approach makes him a confident, gifted and skilled negotiator. Smith & Berg’s properties are regularly featured in such media outlets as the Los Angeles Times, Angeleno, California Home & Design, Curbed and Hollywood Reporter, among others and he’s a sought after speaker and resource for top media outlets including Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and The Real Deal.
F. Ron’s expertise in new construction aligns with his personal affinity for architecture and design, a passion that he recently applied to the remodel of his own home in Brentwood. Living and working in Los Angeles for the entirety of his professional career—amassing over three decades of experience no less—has translated into an acute awareness of the market as well as a strong community connection. F. Ron is an active supporter of numerous charitable organizations, including Children’s Burn Foundation, LA Family Housing and Concern Foundation for cancer research, and is a member of the Executive Committee of USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate. However, no accomplishment is more rewarding nor a greater source of pride than the family he has built alongside Tracy, his wife of 28 years, and their two sons, Evan and Brandon.
When it’s not a client interaction or the closing of a deal, you can bet that adding fuel to F. Ron’s fire is either the discovery of a vintage tequila or a top-notch espresso drink. His dedicated “research” has concluded that the Mandorla, an almond cappuccino from Caffe Luxxe in Brentwood, is one of the choicest brews around.
Peggy and I would like to thank you and your staff for making this potentially traumatic experience so manageable. We always felt confident that we were in very professional hands and that our best interests were continuously represented! We received multiple offers including two that were well above our asking price. I will not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone who is looking for an outstanding realtor! (In fact, I have already done so.) Partners Trust is truly a most outstanding Brokerage!!

You took care of me in the style that my husband would be proud. I am blessed to have your skills and friendship in my sphere of influence.

F. Ron Smith and his staff have made a normally very stressful time of selling my parents condominium as easy as possible. Moving elderly parents is never easy, but Ron and his staff were so concerned and mindful of my parent's special needs. Ron delivered everything he promised and more. Thank you Ron and staff.
The only two intelligent decisions we made during the sales process of our Santa Monica condominium were to choose Ron and his team, and then to actually listen to his advice! While we knew the target price we wanted for our home was reasonable, the market was very choppy and it was Ron who built and executed a successful sales strategy to get us exactly what we were looking for ~ in less than a week! Furthermore, everything about the escrow and close then went smoothly. The bottom line is we will work with him again and have referred him to friends aggressively.

Ron was recommended to me by my investment banker. What stuck in my mind was that she said he is a tough negotiator. Since I had to sell my home by myself, I needed someone strong next to me. Ron sold my house in the first week with multiple offers, got me into my new home within weeks from the sale, and he did everything that he said he was going to do. His staff is also very responsive and knowledgeable. I have already recommended him to several people.
Selling a home can be a stressful situation, especially when living in another state. I can't give Ron and the extended Partners Trust team enough praise and positive recommendations for taking charge of my transaction and managing the steps leading to an extremely successful sale: market analysis, preparation and renovations prior to listing, navigating the sale and closing processes, patience with me, and real-time communication every step of the way. The results exceeded my high expectations, and I look forward to working with this team again in the future!...

I would compare working with Ron to making fantastic guacamole. First, you need the right ingredients. Second, you have to know the right proportions. Third, you have to mix it just right. And last you need to eat it while it's fresh.
When I first met Ron, my lease tenant was moving out rather suddenly. I had anticipated having to pay out a couple of months rent trying to find a new tenant. This was the beginning of December by the way.
Ron told me that his goal would be to have a new tenant in by the end of the year. Yeah, right! Well, my old tenant moved out on the 15th and my new tenant moved in on the 20th! A minor miracle had occurred!
Ron said it would happen and he made it happen! I was one very happy new client!
Oh, I'm not sure how this story relates to making guacamole, but Ron can probably tell you.

F. Ron Smith, Eric Smith and the Partners Trust team were laser-focused when it came to selling our home. Their recommendations on preparing our home for the highest retail value were dead-on and we took their advice. Their marketing materials were high-quality, sharp and better than anyone else’s. We had used other agents in the past and they were unsuccessful. F. Ron’s Smith’s team came in with a new and fresh approach and they sold our home the first day it went on the market, nearly at full asking price. It doesn’t get much more successful than that!

When we first began looking for someone to list and sell my mother’s house in Brentwood, I warned my siblings that brokers who wanted the listing would likely over-promise in order to get it. I’m not a big fan of over-promise because it usually means under-deliver, but I accepted it as part of the process.
And boy did you over-promise! You’d have the house landscaped, painted, and beautifully staged in 10 days. It would show like a different house than what it had been. You’d have ten days of showings, and then deliver us multiple offers. You’d get us into escrow within 3 days after that with an offer exactly where we wanted, and you’d have a back up offer behind it. You’d get us a short escrow period, with no contingencies. You’d shepherd the deal through the closing of escrow and make sure everything went smoothly. Oh, and somewhere in the middle of that, you’d make a quick trip to China!
Look, I told my siblings, it’s great that he thinks he can get all that done. If he does half of it, we’ll be way ahead.
I was right about only one thing - we are way ahead. Because you didn’t over-promise and under-deliver. YOU DELIVERED ON EVERY SINGLE PROMISE YOU MADE. You literally didn’t miss a day on the incredibly aggressive time schedule you set. You did remake the house into something much better than it had been. Within 10 days of its listing, you brought us 7 offers. 3 days later we were in escrow right where we wanted, and there was a back up offer behind it. Escrow closed today, and everything went smoothly due to your shepherding. And despite the fact that I can’t tell when you did it, I know you also went to China!
You are, simply, a consummate professional. A pleasure to work with you, I hope to again, and I recommend you without reservation.

I've known Ron Smith for 15+years and have had many successful real estate deals with him. On this purchase we worked with Kelly Griffiths who found the right property for us to buy. Because of a pressured time restraint we had less than five days to purchase and close escrow. Ron and his team of experts made that happen. Once again I am grateful to Partners Trust, particularly Ron, Kelly, Eric and Anita. Nobody does it better.

I am writing this to express our sincere appreciation of your excellent representation in connection with the recent sale of our Brentwood home which we had purchased approximately 10 years ago, near the top of the real estate bubble. Thereafter, we watched its market value decline and when we decided to sell it this summer, we feared that we would be unable to recoup our investment. Your advice, step-by-step guidance and marketing prowess resulted in multiple offers in three weeks followed by a profitable sale.

My wife and I have known Ron for the last 10 years, and just recently closed escrow on a property on which he represented us. The transaction ended up being longer and more consuming that any of us had anticipated. These are the types of transactions that put everyone to the test. This is where we witnessed Ron’s true performance skills. He exercised his patience, will, determination, and a very high level of enthusiasm for our deal the entire way through. He brought a tremendous amount of experience to the table, with his top notch negotiating skills and an extensive knowledge of the contracts inside and out. From the first meeting we had in discussing the listing and up until the close of escrow was approx. one year and throughout that entire time Ron never lost his enthusiasm for the project, the listing, the showings and the open houses. For all the requests we had made, Ron was there for us 110%. We were so fortunate to have him represent us and I would highly recommend Ron to all of our friends and family, and anyone looking for a top notch agent.
Every detail of preparing , fixing up and staging were taken care of by Smith and Berg. Their attention to detail and market knowledge is unsurpassed. If your serious about selling your house hire Smith and Berg
Sold a Single Family home in 2017 for approximately $3.325M in Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, CA.
My home was previously on the market for over 140 days with another agent. As soon as I engaged F. Ron Smith and David Berg, they ensured that nothing was overlooked. Less then a month later, the house was sold for more money that it was previously listed for with the other agent. Ron and David are easy to work with and extremely detailed. This is the second deal I've done with them (they represented the seller of my current home) and both deals have been seamless. Class act.
Bought a home in 2017 in Beverly Glen, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
Honest, knowledgeable, professional. David and Ron have a clear understanding of the Southern California Real Estate Market. They always answer your call and respond timely to all your needs especially when problems araise.
Sold a Single Family home in 2017 for approximately $2.8M in Brentwood, Los Angeles, CA.
David and Ron assisted our family in the sale of the home we grew up in. They took the time to understand not only the unique architectural qualities of our home and its location, but also understood the sentimental aspects of this sale. Their high level of expertise and professionalism in the westside residential real estate market was apparent from our first meeting. Their service and advice throughout the entire process yielded results above and beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend their services!
Sold a Single Family home in 2017 for approximately $2.8M in Brentwood, Los Angeles, CA.
David and Ron just sold our Brentwood home. Our experience was seamless and very successful --getting well over our asking price. They're intimately knowledgable with the area and comparable homes. They had accurate advice on how much we should invest in order for the house to show it's full potential. They took care of everything from hiring painters, cleaners, tree trimmers etc. and helped us get through escrow with some extenuating circumstances (being out of town) They were always available by phone, text or email. They made the entire process stress free. They are professional and personable and I would gladly use them again.
Bought a Single Family home in 2017 for approximately $1.7M in Bel Air, Los Angeles, CA.
Ron and David helped us close a deal that my husband and I had lost nearly all hope of closing. We live in West Los Angeles, where buying a home that satisfies all one’s wishes can be a frustrating endeavor. We had one particular home in mind, and they stuck with us through a uniquely complicated foreclosure to help us win the property. They are extremely knowledgeable about the market, business savvy, personable, and communicative. They also have a tremendous network of contacts, across the brokerage, lending, and development communities. We strongly recommend this dynamic duo.
Sold a Single Family home in 2017 for approximately $1.95M in Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles, CA.
After interviewing several realtors, we decided on David and Ron. They were very knowledgable about the market and came up with a solid plan to maximize what we got for our home. They listened to us, understood our goals and delivered. We could not be happier with the result and recommend them unequivocally.
Sold a Single Family home in 2016 for approximately $1.55M in Westwood, Santa Monica, CA.
When it came time to put my Santa Monica condo on the market, I knew exactly who I would call, F. Ron Smith. He has such knowledge of the area and the market we are in at any given time. He will "hold your hand" through the arduous process of prepping your home for market and then onto the listing phase. He negotiated a great deal for me in such a quick time period. This is my 5th transaction with him and he will always be my go to realtor in the future.
Sold a Condo home in 2016 for approximately $950K in Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles, CA.
I contacted Partner's because of their knowledge and experience. Throughout the process of selling my home, I was well satisfied that I had made the right choice. Partners, (David Berg, and Ron Smith), accommodated my wishes relative to their commission, so after our initial meeting my home was listed, and in escrow within two weeks. Partners was extremely helpful by providing resources, (Kelly), to assist my relocation and finding a new residence. The selling process itself went very smooth, and I was very pleased with Partners in dealing with buyers request that went a bit too far. I would recommend them, and would not hesitate to use them again.
