I have been a Professional Real Estate Agent in California for over 12 years and have helped numerous clients purchase prime properties and peaceful homes selling millions of dollars of Residential Real Estate.
Every day, I work to find quality properties for the right person, with my love of architecture and interior design. I often enjoy the process of allowing clients to have their own "Ah-Ha!" moment. Price, Location, Architecture, Needs, these are all the contributing factors for me to allow that realized moment, rather than pushing for a bid. While working for Town & Country Magazine, I was challenged to define how the wealthy spent their money for the purposes of effective and focused advertising. I commissioned and oversaw the White Paper (marketing) which evaluated and decoded the elusive habits and purchasing power of the wealthy. In addition, I produced AN EVENING WITH JERRY HERMAN AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL, helping the underfunded project with corporate sponsorship, an appearance from Sir Paul McCartney and helping fill 17,000 seats. I continued to work with Jerry Herman, and helped broker the sale of the "Barney The Dinosaur Movie Theme," which was performed by Bernadette Peters and written by Jerry Herman.
I saw that many children in Los Angeles were plugged into electronic media and lacked basic life and social skills. Students were exhibiting mounting behavioral problems in and out of the classroom. Public schools had been stripped of funds for the arts and physical education. So I created and developed BALLROOM MADNESS, a charity that teaches undeserved kids (many in some kind of foster care others neglected) partnership skills through ballroom dance. Girls and boys get brought together and are taught mutual respect for each other, as well as making exercise a natural part of the day. In less than three years as Executive Director of Ballroom Madness, I raised enough money to grow the organization and bring the program to over 3,500 students and counting.
Ballroom Madness has earned the attention of every network news station, and most local print media. I appeared on all the major television news stations, selling the program. I was selected by Los Angeles Social Venture Partners as a finalist for FAST PITCH, which allowed me to speak to over 500 of the largest venture capitalists of the nation. I went on to win the ANNENBERG CASE FOR SUPPORT AWARD, which made Ballroom Madness eligible for the substantial Annenberg grant. Dreamworks named Ballroom madness as one of the TOP TEN CHARITIES in Los Angeles.
In three short years, Ballroom Madness has made it into 40 public schools, employs 20 dance teachers, and, most importantly, changed kids lives. Kids participating in the program are no longer being sent to the principals office, and it has been reported that instead of fighting, they now practice the Tango at lunch. So many have talked about how it has "changed my life... one step at a time."
Recently, I have been brought onto the Board of the Beverly Hills Women's Club, to promote cultural, social, educational and philanthropic endeavors within the community. Other charity and board affiliations include: Los Angeles Social Ventures Partners - Fast Pitch (Finalist) - Venture Philanthropy, Annenberg Alchemy Program - Award winner - Non-Profit leadership program, Music Center Dance Arts - founding member, Leadership training from the Junior League of Los Angeles, Crosby Doe Realtors Beverly Hills - licensed CA realtor, UCLA University Elementary School Board, Willows School Board, and Crestwood Hills School Board.
